Newlands 1st XI confirmed their position at the top of the Premier 2 grade following a 49 run win against Wellington College 3rd XI. Batting first Newlands reached 290 with Simon Pask scoring 40, Tahana Firmin 70 and Jesse Glading 52. The Newlands bowling performance was led by Haydon Smith who took 3-29 and Ollie Powdrell who took 2-36.
Newlands have finished the season with 28 points and await the outcome of the St Pats v Onslow game which has yet to be played. If St Pats win they will go to 32 points however if they lose then Newlands will win the grade as they won the game played between the 2 teams earlier in the season.
