On Sunday a combination of the 1st XV and U15 teams took on the visiting Chigusa High School from Japan. This was a special game for Kei Amemiya our international student from the 1st XV as Chigusa High is his school in Japan. With a big crowd looking on, including All Black legend Christian Cullen, Newlands scored a number of tries in a good warm up for the finals day next Saturday. After half time a number of the U15 side got a run out including a number of Year 9 students.
After the game there was a reception for the 2 sides where gifts were exchanged and 44 pizzas devoured! We look forward to seeing Chigusa High in the future.
