The first girls rugby team to represent Newlands since 2003 have finished the season on a high by winning in the Division 3 final against St Mary’s 2 60-15. After a tough start to the season playing against more seasoned girls rugby teams the girls found their feet once the league was split into different divisions and enjoyed some good victories. It is hoped that the creation of this side will lead to more girls getting involved in rugby for 2017. Congratulations to all the girls that played and thanks especially to Rick from Wellington Rugby who put the side together and coached it.
