In todays Dominion Post and on the Stuff website there was an interesting article on Sports funding which involved interviews with former student Kayla Imrie and her family talking about the cost of being involved in elite sport (Canoe Kayaking). Whilst Kayla has got funding to help her reach the next Olympics, her brother Kurtis who is also involved in the sport is self funded.
