After an aborted first attempt at running the champs, last Wednesday we sent a pairs and 2 singles teams to the annual Junior Tennis Champs at the Renouf Centre. Mr Bell our tennis convenor had this to say about the event:
Singles:
Kyle Cummings lost both of his singles matches in straight sets, so was knocked out after 2 rounds.
Joshua Wong won one match/lost his second match to the top seed. He played some good rallies, but was up against a great player from Scots who eventually won the singles.
Doubles:
Shine Wu and Jarred Hodson played 4 matches. They won 3 of them and lost against Scots College, so they were 2nd overall for the day. The Scots team also won the doubles.
All students were well behaved, respectful and played the game in the right spirit.
