Congratulations to Aizaya Anderson (Y13) who has been named in the 2014 Junior White Sox Softball Team that was announced on January 30. Aizaya will be expected to attend training camps as well as two key tours. Teams will be selected to attend the Canadian Fastpitch Futures Gold Championships from 14 – 20 July and also the International Friendship Series from 30 June – 4 July in Sydney.
According to the Softball NZ website:
The squad is a mix of players who are in the frame for 2015 World Championships and also some younger development players for the 2017 World Championships. By selecting the squad Coach Gettins is sending a clear message that each player has the potential to be in the World Championships team, but that being in the final 17 will mean much preparation, training and work, “Softball has to be the number one priority in a players life, it takes commitment and hard work to be a elite international athlete”.
