Three Newlands students were involved in the North Island Athletics Colgate Games for U15 students held in Wellington.
Kushla Smith in Y10 was 1st in the 800M and 3rd in the 400M (13 Girls Level)
Ben Murdoch also in Y10 was 2nd in the Long Jump and 3rd in both the High Jump and 400m (14 Boys Level)
In addition both Ben and Kushla won gold medals as part of their respective 4x 100M relay teams.
Lateefah Idris placed 7th in the Discus and 11th in the Shot Put (14 Girls Level)
Ben also went to the South Island Games the following week and finished 1st in the High Jump and Long Jump and was 3rd in the 400M.
