Continued success for Orienteering duo

Fresh from their success at the College Sport Orienteering series, Liam Kendrew (Y11) and Seb McBride have returned home from the NZ Secondary Schools Rogaine Championship in Christchurch with a 2nd place finish.

For the uninitiated Rogaining is the sport of long distance cross-country navigation, in which teams of two to five people visit as many checkpoints as they wish in a set time period. The checkpoints are free-choice and have different point values so strategy and route selection becomes a vital component. The teams are given the map of the course a set period of time prior to the start of the race so that they can plan their route.

Congratulations Liam and Seb and thanks to Mr Riddle for taking the boys down to the event.
