All 3 Newlands sides won their respective games at the weekend. The 1st XI faced off against Scots College 2nd team at home. Scots batted first and Zac Davies got over the disappointment of not being able to dismiss Mr Witts and being bowled by Mr Skinner in the game on Thursday by taking 6-18 whilst Alex Chafe (who was also bowled by Mr Skinner) took 3-13. Scots were thus dismissed for 42 and Newlands cantered to victory inside 10 overs.
The 2nd XI got over the shock of not being defaulted to and amassed 170-4 against Scots 4th XI with Josh Lingard-Barton top scoring with 62 and Quinn Holland scoring a quickfire 40. In reply Newlands kept Scots to 139 in the 19th over: Quinn Holland 2 for 19 off 4, Ed Soung 2 for 24, Sumedh Tulpule 1 for 5 and Iszax Aston 3 for 24 on debut. Special mention must go to Harjot Sehra who took two great catches, one that he took while running back towards the boundary.
Finally the Intermediate side played Kapiti College and scored 169 in their innings thanks to the top 3 of Matthew Cottle (15), Reece Edgecombe (21) and mainly Ashley Charles who scored an unbeaten 62. In reply Kapiti were undone by Tyler Hall with 4-23 and Lokhender Murali with 2-13 as Kapiti could only make 86.
