Kurtis Imrie won a bronze in Kayaking at the recent Australian Youth Olympic Festival (over 1700 competitors from 30 countries). Being 16 he was pretty young to be involved and did extremely well to gain a bronze in the ‘head to head’ category.
As you will see from the article below he did not get a chance to race for that medal due to the extreme heat but I am sure he would have won if he had!
