Cost

$55 (Charges cover the cost of ammunition for the first half of the season)

Background

Smallbore rifle shooting is a sport where you can have fun, be competitive and learn about the safe handling of firearms. Students attend fortnightly sessions at the Royal Tiger Range in Beramphore in term two and then a team is selected to train weekly in term three for competitions. In 2022, Newlands College came second in the local inter-school competition and participated in a shoot in Masterton.

Parent assistance with transport in Term two is required.

Training

Once a week on a Tuesday on a two week rotation.

Uniform

Old clothing required
Trousers
Long sleeve jersey
Sturdy, covered in footwear

11 August – CSW Round 1, TBA

25 August – CSW Round 2, TBA

1 September – Triangular, TBA

Inter school shoots as arranged
