The Newlands 1st XI Cricket team won a thriller against Onslow 2nd XI over the weekend. Set 240 to win after Onslow batter C Turner scored an unbeaten 109, Ishaq Idris (31) and Simon Pask (72) had a 132 run second wicket partnership which set up the opportunity for the victory. Following this partnership Newlands lost 2 wickets for one run and then with the score on 181 they lost a further 2 wickets. Wickets continued to fall and it was left to the last wicket pair of Danny Chafe and Luke Badcock to score the last 9 runs with just over an over to spare. Congratulations to the boys on winning such a tight game.
