It was another successful day on the bowling greens yesterday for Newlands College at the College Sport Wellington Bowls Championships.
We had 15 students competing and ended up winning up 2/3 competitions we entered.
Boys Pairs
(Dom Kelekolio & Jonny Cottle) 5 /5 wins (1st) – Boys Open Pairs Champions
(Andrew Morgan & Nathan Ryan) 4 and 1/2 / 5 wins (3rd)
(Sean Rennwandt & Liam Gailbraith Smith) 4 wins (4th)
(Shaun Liew & Josh Kim) 2 / 5 wins
(Denny Stamenov & Jessie Rainey 2/5 wins
Girls Pairs
34 teams entered
Victoria Bain & Georgia Rainey 5/5 wins – 1st – Girls Open Pairs Champions
(Victoria and Georgia were 4-1 down with time running out managed to win the final 2 ends to tie it up 4-4. This sent them into an extra end which they won 5-4)
Nicole Singh & Abbie Law 2/4 wins
Girls Singles
Jessie Mok played well in her first tournament.
Some excellent results and we played some quality bowls throughout the day. They have all trained hard throughout the season and it paid off yesterday.
