Our boys U15 Rugby team have done the school proud with a close-run final 17-12 loss against Aotea in the U15 Division 3 final last Saturday.
Aotea were unbeaten and had beaten Newlands twice during the season but Newlands took the game to them and were ahead 12-10 till deep into the 2nd half when Aotea scored and then converted from tight on the sideline. There was still time for Newlands to come close to scoring a try that would have required a conversion to win it as a draw would have left Aotea as champions.
Congratulations to Mr Ewens, Roger, Joe and Thomas for the sterling work they have done with the team and congratulations to the team itself for their efforts on the day and during the season.
