The Newlands 1 Netball team continues to make history, this weekend becoming the first Newlands College team to reach the Premier 1 division of the Wellington open grades. In grading the girls won 6 out of 7 games and will now face the capitals heavyweights which will include playing against Ms Kersten’s team which will be a novel experience!
Earlier in the week, the girls took part in the CSW Netball Tournament and having won all their pool games came up against Wellington Girls who had just been defeated in the semi finals of the National Netball Tournament. This was a tense game which ended as a draw at full time. Six minutes of overtime followed but the girls lost by two. Overcoming the disappointment of the loss, the girls came through to win the play off for 3rd with Aotea.
