The Newlands 1 netball team did the college proud in the national College Netball Tournament. Having made the tournament by virtue of their performance in reaching nationals in 2014, the team got to play in the televised 2015 knock out competition that took place prior to the Monday night Central Pulse home games.
In round 1, the girls took on Palmerston North Girls who they had played in nationals last year. A dominant performance saw them win 39-25. This result saw them take on local rivals Wellington East in round 2. This game was a really tight affair which was close right up to the closing minutes. Unfortunately East then pulled away to win 29-25. Whilst the girls were knocked out they can look back with pride at the fact they made the last 8 in the country.
