After a period of time of Newlands College not having the numbers to field either a Boys or Girls Softball team we have been fortunate to have very strong numbers across both genders. Following the regional tournament both teams were given a wildcard into the Schools Nationals which was accepted.
The tournament was a learning experience for both teams and they also had to deal with awful weather in the last couple of days. This experience will stand them in good stead looking ahead. The teams certainly improved from the CSW tourney which was fantastic and great experience going forward to next year.
Congratulations to Tui-Aroha Fransen for making the tournament team..a great effort!!!
