Our Table Tennis players have been busy over the last few weeks competing in the Singles and Team Championships and there has been alot to celebrate!
INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIP
In the Senior Boys Singles event we had winners in 3 divisions: Ben Meyer (Division 1), Reece Edgecombe (Division 2) and Max Pearce (Division 3A) whilst at the Junior Boys level Jonathan Cottle came 4th in the main event whilst Brandon Ru beat fellow Newlands player Cory Whitelaw in the Division 2 final.
In the Senior Girls event, Helen Kuang came runner up likewise Jada Lambert came runner up in the Junior Girls Tournament.

TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The following week was the Team Championship which saw 5 teams being entered. In the boys event Newlands 1 were joint 3rd in Division 1 whilst Newlands 2 and 3 came 2nd and 4th in Division 2. Finally in Division 3, Newlands beat local rivals Onslow to take the title. In the girls event, they stormed past 3 teams 10-0 with a closer game against Taita and lost to the eventual winners TK Te Rito to finish runners up after pool play. Click here for the results.
