The 2014 edition of the Junior Triangular has been won by Tawa College. Tawa finished with 33 points, with Newlands 2nd with 23 points and last years winners Onslow finishing 3rd with 22 points.
The weather was kind to the event with only windy conditions as opposed to the predicted rain. In the first event of the day Onslow beat Tawa in the boys cross country whilst the reverse happened in the girls event.
The badminton took place at Onslow Rec Centre with Newlands Boys and Tawa taking first position.
In the basketball Onslow dominated the boys competition whilst Tawa won the girls. Newlands beat Onslow in the girls competition having lost by a large margin in their college sport game on the Tuesday.
The schools were fortunate to have access to the new Alex Moore artificial surface for football. Onslow took out this event for both the boys and the girls. The girls won their games extremely convincingly and the boys showed why they are considered the best 15th grade side in Wellington.
In the hockey another new turf was used as Newlands Intermediate kindly allowed the use of their newly laid one. Newlands took out the event for the boys whilst Tawa did the same for the girls.
Newlands took out both the Y9 and Y10 netball as they did last year with Tawa finishing 2nd in both events.
Finally in rugby Tawa beat Newlands in the only game of the day.

All in all the sport was played in great spirit, we’ve seen quite a few injuries from the day including a fractured foot and broken arm but all the students enjoyed the day and are no doubt looking forward to 2015 if they are still a junior.
Pictures from the event will be posted to the photo galleries in the next few days.
