The intermediate boys cricket team have lost their grade final against Hutt Valley High School who were the only team to beat them during the course of the season.
Hutt Valley batted first and amassed 226 with Tyler Hall, Marcus Gibson and Ashley Charles chipping in with 2 wickets apiece. According to Dave Edgecombe discussing the Newlands College reply “Liam (Collins) got undone by a real snorter off the wicket and the drizzling conditions conspired against us also. It took a good catch to dismiss Tyler (Hall) – I think if that went down we’d have won as the momentum was with us at that stage. Newlands were finally dimissed for 149 with Tyler topscoring with 63.
